I made this textile Hamsa (or hand of Fatima) several years ago and I decided to paint it because of its such a stunning colors; the painting turned out just as fabulous as the sculpture! The oil painting measures 12" x 16"\31cm x 41cm and it has a gold background.
The Hamsa is an amulet from many different countries in North Africa the Middle East. It is believed to protect one or bring good luck.
