The Needle felted Madonna and Child ( 21" x 8" x 4") is an art doll sculpted from wool, her hair is alpaca wool, her clothes are hand sewn, she has glass doll eyes and her halo is made from gold fabric, wire and beads. I made this piece at the time I was creating feminist pieces, specifically I was thinking about breast feeding in public.
Needle felting is the sculpture of raw wool with special needles. Fine details and a strong structure can be accomplished with needle felting.
Needle felted pieces should be kept behind glass  to protect from dust.
